  3. ST and DX Focused Armor

This page involves armor sets specifically for ST, DX and then an armor set equally sharing ST/DX bonuses.

ST Focused Armor

This set allows for a base AC of [58]. It provides the highest strength bonuses available. You will have to upgrade the items to actually get the bonuses as they give bonuses based on the enchantment level. If your goal is to have the highest ST in the game then this is your set. This is a good set that maximizes AC and ST.

Bonuses:

Penalties:

Shield Specific Penalty:

  • 4% penalty to DX with 1-handed melee weapons and a Crossbow class ranged weapon.
  • 6% penalty to DX with 1-handed melee weapons and a Bow class ranged weapon.
  • 10% penalty to DX with 2-handed melee weapons without ranged weapon or with Sling class ranged weapon.
  • 12% penalty to DX with 2-handed melee weapons and a Crossbow class ranged weapon.
  • 14% penalty to DX with 2-handed melee weapons and a Bow class ranged weapon.
  • Negative 5 to Unarmed Combat (UC) used by the wearer, additional to the above penalty

DX Focused Armor

This set allows for a base AC of [58]. It provides the wearer with multiple hit potential, as well as protection against Mages by utilizing the Mage Shield. You will have to upgrade the items to actually get the bonuses as they give bonuses based on the enchantment level. If your goal is to have the highest DX in the game then this is your set. This is a good set that maximizes AC and DX with as little DX penalties as possible.

Bonuses:

  • Plus 1% to base DX and Skills for each enchantment bonus from the Elven Cloak
  • Plus 1% to base DX and Skills for each Enchantment bonus from the Elven Boots
  • Plus 1% to base DX and Skills for each Enchantment bonus from the Elven Gloves
  • Plus 1% to base ST for each Enchantment bonus from the Helm of Ecthelion
  • Mage Shield protects against Direct Damage Spells based on the + added to the item up to 50% damage dealt
  • Amulet of Invisibility acts as a pair of DB + [20] that stacks with the Displacement Boots. The wearer is also last minion to be attacked by a physical attack. Seeker ammo does not ignore the 'Invisibility' granted.

Penalties:

Shield Specific Penalty:

  • Mage Shield does not grant AC
  • Mage Shield negates all spells trained by the wearer (except for spells that still function at a zero skill level, such as Decay)
  • Depending on your weapon combination, the Mage Shield can have a higher DX penalty, from an additional 2% up to 7%, for a total penalty of 4% and up to 9% respectively.

ST and DX Focused Armor

This set allows for a base AC of [55]. It provides the Wearer with both ST and DX bonuses. You will have to upgrade the items to actually get the bonuses as they give bonuses based on the enchantment level (if i had Trollskin Armor +20 i will get a +20% to ST.) In the long run you will have much more ST bonus than DX bonus, due to the fact that ST bonus items are very cheap to upgrade compared to the DX bonus items. Elven gear and the Helm of Ecthelion can only be upgraded at the Blacksmith, whereas everything else can be forged as well as upgraded at the blacksmith.

Bonuses:

Penalties:

Shield Specific Penalty: (These penalties count only to DX and not to Skills. These penalties are not cumulative with the already DX penalty.)
