I have a suggestion for both Hal and for UC that would be a quick fix to the fact that the x part is a linear upgrade with the effect being non linear and each effect level only giving an increase of x20 per level.
If the x side were to increase equal to its effect level that would stop a lot of the craziness that happens at the lower levels and bring it onto a curve increase in line with the effect level curve.
This would mean 1 UC effect would be x2 +1
2 UC effect would be x4 +2, 3 UC effect would be x7 +3 and so on.
Mathematically this would mean that UC would be the summation of effect for x and 1.2 times effect for pth.
changes are great to suggest.
the hard part is getting someone that can implement them....
Yeah, that was the reason I was suggesting this as it should be quite easy to program in.

This seems to scale pretty well:
At 200 UC (6m levels) you end up with an effective weapon with the stats at x20100 +240
At 300 UC (16m levels) - x45150 +360
Both of these put your "weapon" up into the tiers of the highest NW weapons simply without the added effects each weapon carries.
The exact equation for the x with the proposed idea is:
x = UC(UC+1)/2
Where UC is your effective UC.

P.S.
Nightstrike,
A hello I'm still alive would be appreciated. Also, give someone you trust the power to make these types of changes.
Yours Truly,
