Vegas and cherries... (in Off-topic)

First time in Vegas. It's very.... flashy :)

NICE!!! I love Vegas. Where ya staying, what plans? Seeing any shows? Beware the "escort card slappers" !!

The "Yard House" check it out brews and great food :)

Two places.. first, one of the hiltons, then on to the jockey club.

At the very least, I have to see David Copperfield. He's a childhood hero of mine. And of course, we can't miss one of the Cirques. I'm with the gf, so not sure if I can float Zumanity :) But there's a lot of others.

Been there six times, fives times during the winter season, always a good time.
date-plan: Eat at Battista's(before Gordy croaks), walk about, watch the fountains, then taxi over to see the blue man group.

Not sure how much longer you're there, or what kind of music you like, but the Beatles "Love" is an outstanding Cirque show. I can also say Mystère is awesome. If you wind up off the strip for any reason, the seafood buffet at the Rio is outstanding (it's had it's ups and downs but I've never not enjoyed it). A bit pricey but tons of good and varied seafood. Ahhh... so many things in Vegas... so much to do. I've been in February and still made a point of going in the outdoor pool. Cause I can.

Mystere is what I tried to type. And +1 to see the fountain shows in front of the Bellagio. Check on the timing before you go and wait but if you want a good spot don't wait till the last second. Watching from street side is perfectly acceptable.

Best place to girl watch is the pool at the Palms. Best show is Absenith at Ceasers.

I stay at the Palazzo or the Wynn. The other hotels are a bit lacking.

The Palazzo/Venetian have consistently come in at the top of Vegas hotels/resorts. I don't know that I like the entire feel of the Wynn... but the rooms are something to behold. Had a suite and the bathroom (with his and hers WALK IN CLOSETS IN THE BATHROOM) was enormous and beautiful. And the view through the floor to ceiling windows is a beautiful view. Only view that I can say for sure is better is the balcony view from the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. Gonna have to check out this Absinthe next time :)

I'll be there on Monday... for work...again... I've been going 6-8 times a year, for the last 8 years, usually just for the day. First flight in, last flight out.

Haven't been there for fun in a long time, but it's always a blast if you have the time to enjoy it. Save sleep for when you get home. I'd venture off the strip one night and see the older part of Vegas.

It's a very weird place. It's hot and uncomfortable outside, and walking the strip is odd with all the porno pamphlets everywhere. But it is very fun to sit and watch people.

We saw Mystere. There's 7 cirque shows going on here. We'll probably see another one. Repeat customers get 25% off :) Got great seats, too. 100 section for the cost of the 300.

We'll be doing the Bellagio fountain today or tomorrow. We leave on Saturday.

We saw the DaVinci Experience at the Venetian. It was... lackluster. Also... man... indoor smoking. It's been less than ten years since the smoking bans went into place everywhere in the north east thanks to Bloomberg, and yet seeing it is mind blowing. It's so out of the ordinary, like watching someone rob a bank in broad daylight. How does anyone stay inside a building for more than ten minutes without getting sick? The air is so stale and filled with smoke.. I can't believe it's 2013.

I want to go on some of the rides on top of the stratosphere. Still have to find a spot in the schedule for it.

Anyone know where there's some affordable dune buggy racing? Only place I found was $300 for 30 minutes, which is totally insane.

We're going to the Wynn for a breakfast buffet.

As for hotels.. we're time share owners, so we are staying at those places.

We visited the Hoover Dam already, and are going to check out the historic Boulder Dam City.

I service large format printers and have a contract with a couple of businesses in Vegas. They do the big prints that go up on the side of the hotels, billboards, bus wraps and the like.

Glad you're getting away, so many people get stuck looking at all of the fancy flashiness. Never been dune buggy racing, bit I did rent a fully automatic rifle once. You end up spending a lot of money on ammo but it's fun.

I didn't pluck up the courage. although we went for a meal on the top of the tower.

My sis went on the ride that hangs over the edge, she loved it. ;)

I went to the usual rollercoasters.

Love Vegas. Been 3 times, although not since I've been married. Did the Stratosphere ride, the one that goes out over the edge. Do it at night if you do it, with all the lights of Vegas laid out below you.

Does New York New York still have it's roller coaster? That was a good one. The Star Trek experience thingy? Is that still there? That was expensive for what it was I guess, but fun.

The Star Trek Experience was very well done. I used to recommend it to everyone. Too bad it's gone. The Stratosphere rides are cool, mostly because they are on top of a building. Primm is about 20 minutes away and has a great roller coaster. If you are driving south out of Vegas for any reason it's worth the stop. I think it is on the way to Hoover Dam.

+1 for Blue Man Group, I've seen it so many times in so many places. (=

Ka is my favorite Cirque (well, as of 2007 or so, haven't seen the new ones). Mindblowing set, and there's actually a story you can follow with characters you can recognize. The music is fantastic as well.
