Single uc minion goo! (in General)

[Jedi] Danludar March 7 2012 11:11 PM EST

So for fun I'm going to run a single uc minion. Not sure how long I'll keep him up but I was curious on some things.

1) exbow or SoD

2) should I bother with AMF or Dm?

3) would db's or eb's be more beneficiary early on.

Running this without a tattoo also.

1. Axbow over exbow, since it has innate evasion
2. up to you
3. DBs early, ebs later

honestly i would use an axbow to stop them from hitting you, the uc has evasion and needs dex, so coupled with the axbow to kill there dex your golden, plus your gain a higher dex advantage and thus more hits :)

100k amf to stop decay.

EBs boost your UC and your dex, i would use the, as your uc provides some evasion, and as uc your dex based so dbs seem redundant to me, when the ebs offer so much more for you.

TH3 C0113CT0R March 7 2012 11:17 PM EST

PIT!!!!! YOU BEAT ME!!! lol

[Jedi] Danludar March 7 2012 11:21 PM EST

I can still be hit with a dx advantage so I'm not as worried about that as staying alive. I'm just torn between focusing on big teams or tanks as my main weakness.

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] March 7 2012 11:23 PM EST

You can still be hit yes, but evasion is much more effective if you have a dx adv.

TH3 C0113CT0R March 7 2012 11:35 PM EST

not to mention uc usually focuses on Dex over str, so i doubt you will drain enough str with those random hits to make that huge of a difference, but thats just me, have fun and good luck. plus most tanks/archers build str over dex. so its much easier to 0 there dex then it is there str, unless you have a HUGE exbow.

lol ironically if you click my picture thats my ORIGINAL UC character from way back when cb2 first started, before i quit and came back :)

depends on your money supply, UC minions have a huge advantage in encumbrance early on, so you can really load up on NW in an SoD

the axbow is mediocre, as is the exbow...

I'd reconsider the tat choice, the RoBF is wonderful on single UC minions, and lets you get extra evasion and keep the EB.

For a single UC minion, I would strongly suggest junctioning a Jig.

If not, always run your UC minion with a Gi. Yeah, he'll be tattoo-less, but a Gi really is the best option for a UC minion.

As said above, if you don't take at least 100K AMF, you're leaving yourself open to Decay. But if you're happy with that, don't bother with AMF.

EBs would be better than DBs.

QBJohnnywas March 8 2012 6:46 AM EST

Ah single UC minions. EBs over DBs, basically as much as you can get extra onto that skill. I always preferred using the ToA with UC, but if you go Gi as GL says then you can also chuck on an EC to further boost that skill.

SoD over ax/exbows. You're already evading them, and while extra evasion doesn't hurt, the extra damage output helps you gain a wider spread of opponents, so that you can fight mage teams as well as tank teams.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 8 2012 7:55 AM EST

If you plump for a SoD, pick up some DM.

Also don't forget VA. ;)

QBJohnnywas March 8 2012 8:25 AM EST

And that right there is why I always went ToA. The extra PTh for one, but also the ability to divert XP into enchantments as well as UC without losing st and dex.

TH3 C0113CT0R March 8 2012 8:41 AM EST

problem is GL if you go SoD and use DM to combat GA you leave yourself open to decay, i guess you have to choose one or the other...

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 8 2012 9:23 AM EST

Yup.

Or you drop the gimped single minion set up and run 2-3 minions. ;)

Tattoo and Gi!

Not interested In a tattoo really. I just want to see where this becomes difficult without one. It's for fun really just needed some tips.

any option of you wanting to use an SoC to absorb physical dmg and return flash dmg?

As far as your questions

1)exbow
2)Dm
3)eb's

I say kill the Strength, reduce AS/GA combos, and have more DX. youre just only open to DD's which is the trade off between Dm and Amf

[Jedi] Danludar March 8 2012 7:21 PM EST

Yes I'm going with an soc. That was my initial thought but large teams are starting to worry me. Big bows are becoming less common it seems.

Unappreciated Misnomer March 8 2012 7:55 PM EST

Well if youre worried about mageblender then later you an switch to SoD/AMF/DB and drop the soc

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] March 9 2012 2:25 PM EST

If you are worried about the upper game then SoD/DM/EBs would be the way to go.. heck the SoD and DM will help like crazy early game anyway, and make a nice lead into the end game so long as you are well invested into both.

DBs will help for the few and far between pure Archers (you don't see many until mid game though), but eventually you'll want to have more UC since it grants some evasion anyway, and EBs are a great way to get more of that. Also EBs grant more AC, which you will need if you are going to be single minion.

Decay is going to eat you alive though so beware. I'd throw in some VA for survivability during melee rounds.

1.5-2m+ MPR would be my guess, unless you heavily invest into DM and can hit much higher teams really hard.
