What's the formula of weapon damage? (in General)

Jecht February 2 2012 6:50 PM EST

ELB (6)
Mageseeker (5)

I'd like to know how much the base damage is important.

TH3 C0113CT0R February 2 2012 6:52 PM EST

if its the same as melee weapons its ^2

so 6x6=36, 5x5=25, i could be wrong though

QBRanger February 2 2012 7:07 PM EST

I have found that the MSB does about 66% (2/3) the damage of the ELB.

This is just anecdotal and I have no formula to prove this.

Ok, I see, thank you.

So I guess the (x) multiply that number.

Do you also know how str works?

QBRanger February 2 2012 7:35 PM EST

A 4x in strength increases damage by 2. Assuming the weapon x is constant.

sqrt(dST) = dDamage

Same for X, damage increases by sqrt of the change.

am I or am I not correct about the base damage though? I've been going by that cus thats what i was told.

BestNUB February 2 2012 8:36 PM EST

looks about right since 25/36 is around 69.4% which is consistent with Ranger's anecdotal percentage.

Yes L3g0 that is right.
