Your CB handle (in Off-topic)
I'm not talking about the goofy names the every one seems to be sporting for this 30 day period, your original name, why did you choose it, what made you decide to have that name on carnage blender.
SlamSlice = When i played D&D i had a hammer with a small blade on the end of it that i called the Slam-Slicer and ever since then every comp game I've played i went with slamslice.
AG Titan, Titan was my nick in pretty much everything that I played at the time, still is. AG was my Halo 3 team at the time.

When I played D and D, my favorite character was a dwarven ranger. Therefore the name.

Shade, I used to play a game I called myself (or my avatar) Shade Stalker, kept me going quite long.
Lately I tend to call game accounts Gourmetski because that's my nickname.
Back in the day, I needed a name to use on this new thing the internet, so no one would be able to come round my house and steal all my goods (or groom me. Whatever the fear was of using your 'real' name back in the day.)
And I really couldn't come up with anything that fit.
A mate of mine suggested GentlemanLoser from the bar of the same name in a William Gibbson novel, and it wasn't taken on the first site I wanted to join (gamefaqs I think...), so it stuck.
I had a slight problem when I joined a group for an RPG game and a long standing member called Gent Loser thought I was trolling him. ;)
But apart form that, it's been quite unique! :P

Game nickname in many games. Works our great with Rey meaning king so kind of "King Wraith" if you will. Works great with CB since the game makes many references to Tolkien and so my avi.
Lord Bob

My real name is Bob. And I am a great and powerful Dark Lord.
Demigod
September 8 2011 2:05 PM EDT
After Napster sold out, I downloaded WinMX and had to create a handle. On a whim, I chose Demigod. Since the name was usually available with other online services, it just stuck with me. Everything was fine until a crappy game with the same name came out a couple of years ago.

I just made it up one day when I needed a new name, I got tired of using Eieken (which I also made up). I just thought it sounded neat. :)
Used Gohan in the 90's for a text based war/trade game, since I was like 13 and loved DBZ. Stuck with me since.
Tal is the Angel of Destruction.

I played This Game Called Bolo for the mac when I was in Jr High, his Name was Captain something or other....so to best him I named myself Admiralkiller....stuck ever since I name myself that in many places...if you see that tag...chances are it's me..
I unapologetically plagiarized my handle from the Brian Jacques novel of the same name.
Were the initials I put in at the end of arcade games.

Do you have the apostrophe in real life or is that just to dodge the nonexistent fight feed?
the name Natasha is used demi
Got my handle in the Dojo I used to train in, the direct Translation would be: Ultimate Love, the referred translation(deeper meaning) is: Ultimate Peace. Had no clue until much later what this really meant to everyone around me. In my eyes it was more of the practice of Zen and becoming one with myself so "Zen and I" as a constant reminder of what I was trying to do. Has stuck with me for almost 20 years now.
ScrObot
September 8 2011 8:29 PM EDT
Once upon a time in 1993, when I first got on IRC, I attempted using "Bones" as my nickname, but that was taken by a net op, so I randomly used "ScrO" instead. I have no idea where it came from, but I liked it and it stuck. There is no meaning behind it or the capitalization. (Nothing to do with orcs or testicle holders, sorry.) That then evolved into ScrObot at some point in the ensuing years. (And that is apparently some people's surname, though not mine.)
AdminG Beee
September 8 2011 8:50 PM EDT
G_Beee is a pretty sucky name and I really have no idea where it came from, I'm usually at least a little more creative.
G and B are my initials and sound like 'CB' so that probably had something to do with it I guess.
In the early days I often thought of changing my name on CB to my usual handle Jacobyte but I never got around to it. It would have been weird to change after a while because in-game names really do stick. I meet up with GL every couple of years for a beer and I swear it's an effort to call him by his real name and not GL.
when i went to college in 1985, greg was a pretty popular name (thanks brady bunch!) and there were 2 other gregs on my floor. one was called greg, the other was referred to by his last name but everyone started calling me dude.
when i got on my first online computer game, something on prodigy.net in 1992 i believe, the name dude was already taken but i had one friend in college who always had to be different and had called me dudemus. dudemus is usually available so that is what i end up with on most games and sites.
many think it is a play on words with this character:

I use to play a game called Grand Chase and got addicted to it. I'm just to lazy to change my name.
its a play on words ed + idiot = edyit
'cause if you can't pick on yourself...
Short and sweet:
Dragonis -> Sinogard -> Xinogard -> Xenogard
Detailed Explanation (aka excessive rambling):
My original handle since I was about 12 years old was Dragonis (its actually this accounts original name). I literally just made it up, I liked dragons, so I made a name that had the word dragon in it and it stuck with me for almost a decade. I used Sinogard frequently for alternate characters or if the name was ever taken. (Only encountered that issue twice in my life.) For a few games I started using Sinogard as my main character and Xinogard as an alt. I grew attached to Xinogard so I started using it as my handle, but no one could ever pronounce properly, so I changed it to Xenogard to better reflect how I pronounce it. Its stuck with me ever since. This was maybe 3-ish years ago?
Anywhere you go, if you ever see one of the 4 incarnations of my name chances are its probably me.
Apparently the spell checker hates the story of my name.

First D and D character I played.
A Dwarven Ranger
My very first CB1 name I won't put here since there is no record of it very few know it and we'll keep it that way! I originally picked it (whatever it is) cause I used it everywhere and reminded me of my 2nd cousin (I will tell you he's gay that's the only hint you get) then I added the year I was born after that. However I first changed it cause my system assigned mentor associated me as being a guy (which he still teases me about). At which point I got bored and started changing my name every so often to reflect the seasons which I carried over here, but got bored again so at this point I figure pretty much everyone is used to me being something new every 30 days or so and so I must follow that unless I go back to the true me and disappear for a few months again but that's a story for another time. If I didn't bore anyone to death with this I clearly did it wrong and I apologize to my first assigned mentor as I have clearly learned nothing some odd years later. :(
P.S. It's a talent to answer a question without answering a question!!
Ranger, you already answered :)

Lochnivar
October 7 2011 3:37 PM EDT
thought I'd answered this already...
However, I decided for something all sword-y and armour-y I needed a bane that was pretentious and impressive sounding. So I went with Lochinvar, from the poem "Marmion" by Scott.
So anyway, I typed it in without checking the spelling, thus 'Lochinvar' became 'Lochnivar'.
So that's me, a pretentious mistake.
(and if the shoe fits...)
