toe boost (in General)
what if the toe were given other damage resistance in addition to physical? what percentage reduction would be balanced and what all reductions should be added? magical? splash? ga? robf?
The only fix ToE needs is to have the SS granted updated with the current SS so it works on all the minions. If this were non-dispellable then it would be a quite powerful tattoo.
How about actually fixing the real issue with it?

I'm with novice. Who wants to wear something called a toe? Let's face the real issues here.
it does sound silly to brag that you have the biggest toe in the game! ; )
ac granted by ss does work for both physical and magical damage, correct?
/me smacks OB with a cast iron pan full of grits
The current nature of ToE damage reduction makes a 15m tat only slightly more useful than a 5m tat... that's the real issue.
AC granted by SS comes in the same proportion vs physical and magical as your regular armor. So if you have 100 AC 25 of it vs physical only 25% of your SS granted AC will be vs physical only.
the diminishing returns would be somewhat mitigated by ss working as the spell does though. i didn't realize that it didn't work that way!
unless you're one of the folks with 15m+ HP the SS also becomes meaningless

Maybe that could be a strategically good thing, novice!
If the tattoo is already at 80-90% of the potential of a tattoo at your MTL, then if you can find a strategy that works well with it, you can switch to a small TOE while a N*B raises your regular tattoo at a heightened rate for you. Decreased PR, same effect as a fullsize tattoo, just gotta find a strategy that works for both!
THE POWERRR OF OPTIMISM
A 15 mil tat would cover 12 mil hp. There are only 2 tats in the game that big currently. I think for the most part a properly scaled ToE would have an SS pretty much where a person's HP will be unless they are pure AS dependent. They are more likely to use a RoS then anyways.
I plan on using a small ToE when my ncb ends to help keep my power low so I'll end up with better challenge bonuses.
The ToE definitely has it's place. You just can't look at it from the same perspective as most of the other tattoo's.
as I said in chat, I think giving the ToE SS aura removes one of the last good reasons to use an RoS...
giving it the aura would or making it non-dispellable?
There's only one way to 'fix' the Physical reduction of the ToE.
Make it a small direct reduction that increases with size.
You can't keep it as a percentage, and allow it to have a larger curve.
Or, we could leave the percentage reduction as is, shift that to the side as more of a bonus, and change what else the ToE gives. Like updating the SS to make it actually useful. No one gets any use from the SS of a ToE, becuase it's limited to a minion that can't wear Body Armour...

As Novice says: The endurance level plateaus around 6 mill lvls. No point having one much bigger. Mine is 7 mill lvls and gives me not much less endurance than one twice the size would.
I'd personally like it to give protection against the RBF but that's just me.
But if you're clever with your strat you don't need it for magical defense. In keeping with it's anti tank nature I'd give it built in EC, and have that grow, perhaps with a fixed endurance level.
What I'd like to see is the ToE becoming a staple on defensive teams. Have it grant some portion of its NW divided proportionally into an Adam and an SC granting the 50 base as + instead to avoid massive SG damage, while toning down the percentage physical reduction to peak at around 50 or so. Heavy tanks, anyone?
Actually, I can see heavy mages popping up out of this too. Awesome.
Triple post, but it'd have to lose the SS, though.
