20HP, Invisible, MGS Minion. What to train? (in General)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 13 2010 12:47 PM EDT

I'm beating my head against a brick wall here. I think of any way to spend XP here. Am I missing a nifty trick?

Can anyone think of something useful to do with the XP on a front minion set up as;

20HP
AoI
MGS

They would be backed by PL, so as not to die to the first FB/CoC/SG, but left at 20HP to neuter Decay.

With the MGS reducing trained spells to zero, you're left with just intrinsics. And with 20HP you don't really want a tank, as you'll die to the first bit of GA returned damage. With an AoI, you don't get any use from making a DEX/Evasion minion either.

The one skill you might train (AP) only has a set cost.

What would you do with the XP on that minion?

maybe the question you should be asking yourself would be why use mgs?

well i dont know... personally i think your best bet is evasion.... considering if your damage dealer has an AOI also.... if not you could try a base dd spell baring decay to draw away msk hits should your damage dealer be a mage... not to mention your + AC on your minion would probably make you deal 0 amf damage to yourself

So I take it you don't have AS?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 13 2010 1:03 PM EDT

No AS, that would negate the anti Decay HP and allow you to dump XP into HP.

To stack As much DD reduction as possible. The only thing that can hit an Invisible front minion is DD. So either with a RoBF and MGS or an EH and MGS.

The only problem with that is you open yourself to the MoD ignoring your PL and an easy one hit kill.

The MSK wouldnt target this minon, as the DD would be classed as zero and (if you had another Mage) they would always have a higher DD.

AdminShade September 13 2010 1:08 PM EDT

No Mage Shield in CB land can block a half decent amount of DD. So that 20 HP is useless and you'd be better off without that minion honestly.

20 HP + MgS and no AS = doom.

Wraithlin September 13 2010 1:09 PM EDT

Currently there is nobody in the game with a huge decay.

You can train HP on him without fear as long as you have a decent level of AMF and that MgS you're already wearing.

Ask yourself whether optimizing one minion's defensive power is worth not training anything useful on it.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 13 2010 1:12 PM EDT

The MgS reduces the amount of SG damage the PL minion absorbs

Solare September 13 2010 1:14 PM EDT

Well, if you have two AoI's you could utilize this minion for evasion, and pump all xp into dex/evasion. That would only be useful if PL was involved and if you increased its AC, and only if you had a damage source.
Otherwise you're best bet is to increase its HP, so it has some survivability in case PL doesn't absorb all the damage.

That. ;) And FB/CoC.

Ask yourself whether optimizing one minion's defensive power is worth not training anything useful on it.

That's the problem. Can you do anything useful with this setup? I can't think of it, and was hoping a fresh perspective might find something! :P

Just train a whole bunch of HP on it and use AMF, as suggested earlier, IMO.

Use an RoE so that minion gets no experience. or better yet just save the exp until you want to change your strat, maybe add a tsa for HP.

Sickone September 13 2010 9:40 PM EDT

Like Thread Killer just said (and like I already said in your other thread), ideally, you shouldn't even HAVE any XP to spend on that minion to begin with, thanks to the use of a RoE :)

Stick a GI on it as well if you are trying to maximize against SG. :P

Sickone September 13 2010 9:48 PM EDT

All AC would be nullified by ENC, but the MGS effect doesn't.

DoS September 13 2010 10:00 PM EDT

I didn't read that he was going to overly encumber himself. It would benefit him more with a smaller MGS and a decent sized GI.

Sickone September 14 2010 12:00 AM EDT

Considering he has no idea what to train on that minion (probably nothing, if he does go with the RoE, since he would have no XP to train anything with anyway, at most AP), he would be at or very near base encumbrance limit (so basically 100k CB$).

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 14 2010 4:31 AM EDT

This was just more of a general scenario, not something I'm currently planning! :P

{WW]Nayab [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 14 2010 6:23 AM EDT

There is essentially NOTHING that would help that minion with that setup.
You could save xp for a while or you could take of the MGS so you can turn it into an EO enchanter.
