in place of the current NUB add this
NUB v2
100% flat increase in money earned (from normal characters)
1 free full sized tattoo of your choice when you hit 50k mpr
exp increase based off NCB rates
BA cost the same as normal players
what do you people think?
I like it. Only thing I'm wondering is why not leave BA free and just take out the cash bonus?
And what do you mean 'you people'?
100% flat increase in money earned (from normal characters)
- So, double the rate of what a normal character would have gotten if they had killed the same person? Sounds like a fair amount.
1 free full sized tattoo of your choice when you hit 50k mpr
- What are we constituting as a "full size" in terms of tattoo? Their MTL or a certain number?
exp increase based off NCB rates
- Same EXP Bonus as a NCB would get would mean that as of a week ago, they'd of started with a 488% bonus.
BA cost the same as normal players
- I'd love to see -everyone- get set at this.
They need some cash to get things gentlemen. I would say 100% Bonus to Cash and BA at 25% higher than regular chars.

people who read the forums =x
well free BA maybe... but i mean like... if the person actually liked the game he will know within the first month of playing... even if there is no bonuses at all...
i played CB1 even though it had no "bonus" to speak of. and somehow i think the player retention for cb1 was better then it is now
what does this fix that you see broken with the current system?
Good luck running anything NW-intensive with this.
dudemus: Disposable Char System Downgrade and possibly the same for NUB Sellouts. It's just a thought though.

actually the main point is fix the $$ bonus at a rate that when the "nub" ends it doesnt come as a shock from seeing 5k per battle to 500 per battle
i think the crappy usd to cb ratio is doing pretty good in regards to the nub sellout issue. that is one upside to common rares.
how would adjusting the nub affect disposable characters though?

by full sized tattoo i mean a lvl 20 tatt that is not a lesser
NUBs will be, hypothetically, less likely to sell their chars off with this system. My thought is that with more work into the char the more they would be attached to it. Like I said it's just a thought.
The current money bonus that the NUB gives is I am fairly certain 48.8%. This is actually less than a 100% increase which you are proposing.

actually it currently is 488% which is 4.8x of a normal person
NUBs get the current bonus % to both money and XP, so it is indeed 488%.
Most of the reward bonus is taken out because of the free ba. In essence it removes the amount you would have paid for each ba for your first 6 months. What you have left over is somewhere in the range of 25-50% bonus. I personally think from watching other NUB's play that the amount is likely 1/10 of the NUB bonus.
That's the NUB bonus, I'm fairly certain Nat has a good idea of what the money bonus is separate from that. I can't imagine it still being the same as the XP considering it was lowered to pay for BA.
actually the main point is fix the $$ bonus at a rate that when the "nub" ends it doesnt come as a shock from seeing 5k per battle to 500 per battle
i was under the impression that the original money amount, before being adjusted for free ba, was set to catch them up net worth wise. would the difference then be given lump sum at the end or are you saying that you think they do not need to be given enough money to compete on an equal footing in regards to net worth?
Or another idea: instead of cash bonuses like they have now, new players receive only standard amounts of cash but get credits to make up the difference. Credits are non-transferable and can be used to make blacksmith improvements. At least that way if someone DE's and sells out they only get 50% instead of 100% of the NUB funds.

"actually it currently is 488% which is 4.8x of a normal person "
That would be 5.8x a regular user's cash bonus, because a 100% NUB doubles gains.
Natasha is correct though - the "Free" BA is actually paid for out of the new user's NUB cash bonus. This was stated when NUB BA was made "free" so that they didn't feel like they were wasting money on BA / so that they could only get the full effect of the NUB by buying BA.
Nem, it's higher than 48.8%, but it is indeed less than 5.88x; it should be about around 200% maybe, judging off recent NUB rewards and my rewards during my NCB.

Is it just me who thinks that the declining user base is probably a bigger problem than NUB sellouts?
Sure maybe there's some overlap, but still..
A 200% bonus would mean that some nubs are seeing as much as over $3k in a single battle. I highly doubt this is occurring. I have seen over 1k rewards during some of the ncbs I have run and while I had a nub, while the bonus was quite a bit lower I never saw over around 1.3k for rewards in a single fight. You should also remember that if you are running an ncb and getting money then you aren't buying ba so that lowers the amount of fights that you do. If you aren't running an ncb and you buy ba that cuts into the amount of money that you make by quite a lot.
Right now (or right when the wacky money period expires), I am getting 0.9 to 1.7k in money rewards.. with 30% Challenge and 10% Clan bonus.

Nah, NUB's need free BA and increased cash rate to catch up to everybody else who has been playing the game a long time, otherwise they'll never catch up and likely quit. I know I would have.

I agree with Cube, I've said it before, CB needs many more teams to fill in the rungs on the "ladder" to realize its full potential as a game.
The NUB for purposes of calculating money is 1/3 of normal. So if you have a NUB of 600%, your money bonus is 200%. I'm fairly certain this was in the original changelog to some extent.
That was after the Free BA change, right?
Prior to that, the full Bonus applied to cash rewards as well as XP rewards?
Yes. It is also after the bug fix re: glory.
Seems like I wasn't too far off, since the bonus right now is something like 480%, the bonus to money would be 160%; not too far from 200%, a lot closer than 45%.
