Apparantly Joel has figured out how to have two completly different trained EXP uses and switch between them.
He has a 2mil+ HP/huge DM with base STR/Dx build that he uses to farm Enchanters R Us, and I farm him while he uses it.
Then he can switch to having 4mil STR and almost 2 mil Dx and his MPR doesn't change at all, which means he switched them without retraining.
I know his MPR didn't change because I inspected him about 100 times while farming him to make sure he wasn't ninja retraining, and I was watching his MPR for changes to catch it. Then all of the sudden I got losses because he was able to retrain without an MPR drop.
Is there a feature I don't know about?

Did he switch his tattoo for another?

When he goes to the huge DM/ no STR/DX he has no tatoo equipped. Otherwise he uses augmentation

What I mean is: you do know he uses a ToA to get the ST and DX right?
Wraithlin

so a ToA will add 4 mil STR at 2 mil MPR if you have base STR?

his MPR does not change when equipping or unequipping the ToA at all. only his PR will change. I doubt there is a feature or a bug.

a ToA at his MTL in addition to the +STR items (such as the BoM and others) will indeed give him 4 mil ST. :)
He also has a BoM and AoM which increase his strength further when he has the ToA on.
Yes, a ToA adds STR regardless of base stats

Oh well then there's the hax right there, I can't beat him because a tatoo can turn base STR/Dx to 4 mil/2mil.
Wow, look at this item please.
That's all the tat does, it's been nerfed multiple times before.

Well I do know for sure i'm using it on my first NCB if it doesn't change then, wow that's a horrible design flaw in my opinion.
I don't know how much XP 4 mil STR and 2 mil DX at 2 mil MPR equates to, but if it's a linear training curve then it's around 70 mil XP added bonus. Considering a 2 mil MPR guy has around 100 mil XP himself, I wish i found this tatoo month ago, time to sit down and think about a respec.

Radiance lvl 7,249,726 with ~5m MTL. So his tat is acting at whatever his max tattoo level is. For some perspective, let's take a look at his other options.
DD familiar = 5m DD spell, 1.25m HP, and an extra killslot
HF, 1.7m HP, 2.5m ST, 2.5m DX, a big ELB, and an extra killslot
RoS, 2.5m boost to an ED spell, while negating 2m enemy DM
ToE, 40-50% direct cut in physical damage
RoBF, decent, untouchable damage, evasion, and DD reduction
Tattoos are overpowered :P

"Tattoos are overpowered :"\
Certainly.
Near the top, tattoos become the main damage dealer with most characters being built around the tattoo.

Well, there goes my secret! It seems that the experienced players were already well aware of this nice little strategy, so no big deal!

Yeah, I guess i just never realized how powerful some could be since i'm using a RoBF, it does worthless damage it's just great defensive value.

Well joel it's not something that can be used often. So you don't have to worry too much. You have to find someone with a score/build that is high enough score that if you lower your PR you can max your challenge bonus but then not lose to them.
Removing items to lower your PR to max challeng bonus is not a new idea at all, that much STR/DEX from just a tatoo was just very surprising to me, caught me completly by surprise.

just because someone beats you doesn't mean his/her strat is overpowered :)

the RoBF on the other hand....... :D

I don't think joel's strat is OP because he can beat me. Never said that. He's got almost double my MPR, he should be beating me. And yeah, near worthless damage that doesn't start happening till melee rounds is very OP.

3 of the top 6 current scores use a RBF. Hardly worthless damage.

My guys with decay ususally pull more damage against teams with AMF than my RoBF. It's worthless. It's just nice that you can't return damage against it, and the defensive abilites of the RoBF are amazing.

Not near worthless damage at all. The majority of the teams I can't beat use an RBF.

Do one fight against Nightman, Failure and Iconics for me.
Check the damage of RoBF vs MM for Nightman, my guess is factor of 10 or more difference.
Failure's Morgul hammer vs his RoBF, this one might be closer to 15x more.
Iconics UC and MoD will both be doing more damage, and I'm guessing that his minion with base decay might even hit you harder, since he'll be doing over 1 mil first round.

This is not a thread about the OP that is the RBF.
It has been discussed in many another thread.
This thread is about how the ToA adds what it does, which is not a bug.
Thread closed.

Nightman's MM vs his RBF:
Johnny Was burns from the flames surrounding Nightman (1603650)
Nightman's Magic Missile hit Johnny Was [805364]
Don't be so sure it's worthless damage....

Well I guess it's just my low level then, I'm constantly seeing everyone else smoke my RoBF's damage. At least that gives me some hope.
