Is it now going to be the new normal to have tourny chars auctioning useless items trying to get cb$ for their tourny chars because they can't sell them to the store? It's just funny to see 3 or 4 posts in fs/wtb promoting the sales and just seems to be funny. If Jon didn't intend for the items to be sold to the store to give the tourny char money then why would he want them to be able to auction the item and get money that way? Just wondering is all.

That's obviously not what Jon wanted, as it says in the denial thread to use auctions instead. I'm guessing Jon didn't want people to sell rare items to the store for others to buy for a cheap price. If he doesn't want this to be the norm, I guess he should fix it.

Well personally if this is going to be the norm, then I guess I will be taking FS/WTB threads off my list of threads to watch, because I could care less to see 5 or 6 different threads constantly being bumped just to sell useless stuff that nobody wants so that an active tourny char can sell an item. Just seems to be another way for someone to mis-use a game mechanic that it wasn't intended for, but if you feel you really need that 5k or 10k extra to get an advantage in what is supposed to be a fun tourney then go right ahead and have fun.

If it really scrunches everyone's undies so much, I won't sell off my store-bought items in the future. :P
I was just selling them via auctions because tourney characters are allowed to do that, and if someone wanted to buy them for less than what they sold to the store for, then that was an opportunity for them to make a little CBD and for me to get rid of the now-useless items.
A related point, is it allowed to advertise T char's auctions using main char's cash?

There's no reason it should be illegal to auction items for money, but the automatic system could use some work determining what is and isn't valuable to make the process better.
Also, what Rubberduck mentioned probably should be illegal, but 2k doesn't make a huge difference does it?
How about when you fail a bot check with your regular team, and then pay the fine with your tourney team? Thats quite a bit more than 2k.

I didn't realize that could happen, still probably low on the list of bugs to fix.
There's no reason to purposefully fail a bot check. Unless you actually are botting, in which case you could only do it during tournaments...

Jonathan didn't want Tournament Characters to make a too big profit from selling anything, i.e. exploiting it, or to sell valuable base items and profit from it in that way.
Instead now Tournament Characters are hardly even able selling a higher than 20k NW item to store, that's nonsense imo.
Why disallow them to put crap items in auction and have someone hoard up on them and make a bit of profit by selling them back to store? One man's garbage is another's profit ;)
