Ok, so I'm thinking about how so many things are not trained that much because of DM lately... haste, giant strength, steel skin, etc etc... the amount of XP trained per ED: Ablative Shield 19.1%, Guardian Angel 5.1%, Vampiric Aura 0.5%, Haste 0.4%, Giant Strength 0.3%, Steel Skin 0.1%
The numbers don't lie. So I was thinking what about making an item that allows one minion to be immune to the effects of DM? Or have decreased effectiveness. Can only equip one character with it (so not all can be immune/decreased).
I'm not good with balance yet.. so don't know if this is a totally skewed idea?
Some of these spells sound so interesting to try, but are really pointless if they fizzle completely at the beginning of the fight.
/me shoots himself in the face if this happens.
hey make amf do this with spells too
decay ftw
Haste and GS should be removed and replaced with something else
Steel Skin should be an effect of certain pieces of armor, having it be dispel vulnerable has also destroyed it.
GA needs DM as a counter, same with AS
VA should be item only as well, I think there should be a nearly full set dedicated to life drain. I'd like to see it work with decay as well.
The magical vampire would be an awesome addition. As well as the long requested vampire monk, a no penalty Helm perhaps that creates a drain effect equivalent to morg for any physical or decay attack?

There already is an item that makes not 1 but your whole character "immune" to DM to a degree.
We do not need more.
haste and GS is underpowered. It need buffs. but then USD rules again, because if it is viable, it would require multi(ple) weapons.
If you want to make SS immune for DM I'm all for it.

That's true Ranger, the RoS... guess a better name for this thread would be how to make those unpopular trains more popular.

Haste and GS are always weak to EC and DM, and multiple tanks doesn't add much damage. That's why they aren't used.
Steel Skin isn't used because the big feature of armor was that it was undispelable, but very expensive. Now it's just expensive.
make the ToE Strong vs DM, im openminded as you can see about someone somewhere being able to put you in your place with this Tattoo :D
or...
Jon enjoyed the Elven set bonus or shield, can this be something we could use?

5% and 20% are really good percentages; the others aren't, but I see that more as "these EDs suck" rather than "DM is too strong."
Besides, RoS stops a ton of DM plus it adds to the ED on the minion equipping it. There's already an item like what you're asking for.
A single item to make only one minion immune to DM would bring back the Single Enchanter+Familiar strat, that's for certain.

Not if it is a cloak or body armor.
However, I think the ROS is good enough for the purposes of this thread.
