The new tattoo artist is completely horrible. (in General)

QBRanger December 6 2008 2:35 PM EST

Having been away from the game for a few months, coming back and seeing the new tattoo artist is garbage.

It stifles the ability to try new tattoos and new strategies.

Trying to get a new kind of tattoo is difficult enough, but then trying a strategy, having it not work and changing back sucks as you then need a new tattoo to try another.

IE, I now use a SF. I would love to try a HF, or a FF or an IF or an EF, but it is quite difficult to get those tattoos (at base) and then use them up for a chance they would help.

I hope we can go back to the old way of paying 400k to change our tattoo. With money being easier to get (or buy), it is the best way to keep the game interesting and keep stagnation from occurring which is what I am experiencing now.

QBOddBird December 6 2008 2:36 PM EST

unfortunately, I agree. it's a lot harder to get a base tattoo now than to get 400k.

I had to search, then pay 500k for a base RoBF. -FROWN-

Hakai [Aye Phelta Thi] December 6 2008 2:37 PM EST

Yeah. I'm not too big on the idea either. -_-

FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] December 6 2008 2:38 PM EST

Paying less than 500k for a tattoo nowadays is amazing.

Also, nice to see ya around more often Ranger.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] December 6 2008 2:39 PM EST

yep it bites!

i have often said that if it is to stay this way, then please allow tat rentals jon, that way we can still try tats out before committing.

Andy December 6 2008 2:39 PM EST

I wanna petition too! Finding base tats and getting them just takes way too long! And also most base tats are going for up to 1mil nowadays. Which is ridiculous for people who want to try a new tat in a small hope that it would give them an edge. And sometimes it fails and you sit there in despair. Paying 1mil for your tat to change and no way to change back unless you want to pay another 1mil to get another base and change it back again.

BootyGod December 6 2008 2:41 PM EST

Signed.

Lochnivar December 6 2008 2:41 PM EST

you can try it out as there is a 'reverse' button for the first week I believe...

... of course you don't get the base tat back

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 6 2008 2:42 PM EST

I and RVT (who left over this) agree

Windwalker December 6 2008 2:42 PM EST

Agreed. I have to buy 2 tats if I want to insta up? If I can find them! Much easier to change for a fee.Never really considered this one progress.

Sickone December 6 2008 3:16 PM EST

Most of us agree the "new" tat. artist is... umm... BAD.

I would use much stronger words to properly express my dissapointment but my fear of the fine system prevents me from doing that, and it would make no sense to dwell on the "why" because I wouldn't say anything that wasn't already said anyway by many others ever since the new system came up :p

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] December 6 2008 3:17 PM EST

Go figure Ranger is right about something again. I agree with you 1000%.

three4thsforsaken December 6 2008 3:19 PM EST

^

Whoa! that's like agreeing 10 times!

AdminTal Destra December 6 2008 3:23 PM EST

Im up for it

Cube December 6 2008 3:33 PM EST

I really don't think it's that bad. It's even about the same price if you use the switch back method. Spawn rates should have been boosted accordingly thought I think.

Last Tattoos sold in Auction of each type

Augmentation - 7:35 AM EST Today 600k
Endurance - 2:42 PM EST Today 300k
Solitude - 3:15 PM EST Today 400k
RoBF - 3 Days ago 400k
Electric - 1:38 PM EST Today 700k
Halidon - 3 days ago 400k
Fire - 3 days ago 300k
Steel - Week ago 300k

Ice - Month and a week ago 150k

Waiting a few days isn't bad, but seriously, Did the auctioneer forget about IFs? Maybe it's a bug?

TheHatchetman December 6 2008 3:51 PM EST

While I agree with the general points of the thread, and how the new system is a bit weak, I should point out that paying 800k for a base tat isnt such a raw deal, seeing as you have the option to revert for free, whereas with the old setup, you had to pay 400k to change it, then 400k to go back if you didn't like the results... By paying 500k for a base tat, you're essentially going about it the old way, and paying a 100k re-ink insurance :P

Wasp December 6 2008 3:59 PM EST

Unless you want a EF. Then you have to wait to try and find one. Then compete with all the others that want it. Then pay silly money for it.

AdminTitan [The Sky Forge] December 6 2008 4:39 PM EST

Or if you want an ice one, in which case they just never spawn.

Sickone December 6 2008 5:08 PM EST

AND unless you are a new player, who has no "greater" tattoo at all and wants to get his FIRST one.

Wizard'sFirstRule December 7 2008 12:16 AM EST

maybe there should be both money or another tat to ink to. Then those inking would keep the base tat worth something, and those that just want to ink tats would be able to do so.

QBsutekh137 December 7 2008 12:21 AM EST

I'm glad to be able to change my tattoo at all...

It could be a lot worse, folks.

Sickone December 7 2008 12:22 AM EST

"500k or another tattoo - take your pick"

Wizard'sFirstRule December 7 2008 12:23 AM EST

thinking 1m or tattoo

PearsonTritonRaveshaw December 7 2008 12:26 AM EST

I agree. Oh, and it's good to see you back Ranger. =)
