I am wondering why, when I fight BrokenCycle,That my 600k plus of AMF has 0 effect against his FB.It was quite disturbing to see and looks like a bug or something. Is it perhaps something being tested?Or could it be a that he recently trained and it created a hang of some sort?

Yup, A Set of Noldorin Spellcasters at least +13 or 14 by the placing in the most valuable items section for them.
That'll do the trick.
Just ask anybody who uses them....

Of all the things in the game, the one that need does not need even a slight nerf is AMF.

How much does it cost to get NSC's to 100,cause that is what it would take.If they were only at 14 they would only stop a small amount of my AMF.This is not a small fireball I am talking about.

Sorry for bouble post.......But I guess maybe I am being miusunderstood.I didn't mean effectively 0 I meant literally 0 It showed my minion casting AMF for an effect of 0 and then his single minion casts fireball which is not reduced and he takes 0 damage from AMF.I mean 0 as in the literal number.

+100 NSC's is impossible and is not necessary to reduce AMF to zero.
Each point reduces AMF effect by 0.01, so +14 NSC's can reduce any AMF of 0.14 or less to zero.
It doesn't work like that. Each point reduces your amf effect by a point
AMF is the best offensive spell in the game, it's guaranteed to hit on better than half the chars in game, can only be reduced by one item, and also offers a fabulous defense to boot.

NSC subtract
If Amf casts for .14 then +14 NSC will bring it to 0. If Amf casts for .50 then +14 NSC will bring it to .36. This is also what gets displayed.
They are by far one of the most powerful items in the game.

Then basically you guys are saying that he recently trained a buttload of experience to raise his fireball.

No, he recently equipped a large pair of NSC's.
and your amf had an effect of less than .14 before he equipped them.
I unequipped the NSC and I still beat him so thats not the only thing but yeah your right his antimagic field is .14. Your charactor could beat me when mine was naked but last night i equipped a bunch of stuff.
Lets compare the power of the NSC to some of the other items in game.
AG: raises DD by a point per plus
the effect of the bonus is in play in all fights
BG: adds directly to the damage done with ranged weapons
the effect counters the ranged damage penalties somewhat, giving a 30% bonus to damage for reasonable amounts
Tulks: adds a % to STR per plus
Helps against EC, increases damage, raises encumbrance, works in nearly all fights
EG: % bonus to dex and skills
Effects two stats, stacks with EC and EB
NSC: Each plus directly lowers the effect of AMF
Only works against AMF users, does little to defend against an AMF equal to the DD
---
I can't see the argument that the NSC are one of the most powerful items in the game. I will say however that originally I envisioned that they would only reduce the AMF blowback, not lower AMF effect itself. I'd still like to see this become the case, make the NSC reduce a fixed numerical amount of AMF return with a + curve similar to the MgS (oh yeah, the MgS would get the same treatment).
So a +60 pair of NSC would cut 600k of AMF return, but not reduce the protective effect of AMF. I think it's the offensive portion of AMF that is really the overpowered part, it's just too easy.
also worth noting is that DDs are not very boostable, few items boost it much (and don't give AC). Compare it to str and it seems more balanced.

Why don't we compare sheer amount of XP negated?
AG will give about the same upgrade curve so 14% increase to DD, and if AMF = DD
Then it casts for .5
If NSC are +14 then it brings that to .36
X^(0.7)/2 = .36
(.36 * 2)^(1 / .7) = 0.625
So the AMF is reduced 40%... They're about 3 times as effective as other gloves. Granted it only works versus half the people, but DM is easy to counter by having one or less EDs.
