My opinion on the many high MPR sales (in General)

Say what you want, but it's only Little Anthony's "fault" ;)
Well, not HIS personally (his char), but the system's.

I just took a recent peek at the growth rate I have compared to the growth rate HE has... and guess what, I'm growing at about half the rate he's growing.
Yes, I'm not spending any USD (therefore I'm forced to decide between upgrading gear or buying BA), I'm not in a clan, I'm not getting high CB% rewards, but I'm also not missing much in the daily BA either.

Still, bottom line is, I will never reach 6/20 this way.
My only chance to reach 6/20 would be to abandon my char and start another NCB.
This NCB, I had to abandon the RoE early on, because I had a tattoo of under 1 mil.
Now, however, my tattoo is over 3 mil, so I can keep using a RoE much longer, which will mean that by the end of my NCB I'll be in 6/20... then again keep growing at 1/2 of FTW's rate (probably slightly better, since I will no longer get any negative CB% whatsoever, and I'll have a much larger tattoo, so I can pick on higher PR people), but at least I would already be in 6/20 and not get out of it.

It's been said a LOT of times that the current form of N*B combined with the RoE is a bad thing... but after you ALSO look at how many high-MPR characters are getting sold for basically nothing (because nobody really wants to buy them), it's quite demoralizing.

Seconded. ;)

So now I've bought a 2+ Mil MPR Character, and am in 7/20. ;) Only need to make the slog to 6/20.

One of the main problems (especially with restarting) is the bigger you go, the better rewards you get.

With a NCB, I get far larger cash rewards staying at something this size, than I do restarting, getting silly BA costs and the tiny cash rewards a new character can generate.

Why bother with a NCB. I'd never advise *anyone* to ever make one again.

Just fight a while longer, save up some cash (that the system forces you to do for a NCB anyway) and buy somones NUB that has just left bonus time.

Win.

The NCB just isn't worth it.

i have challenge bonus :P

That's why so many of us refer to this N*B system as championing 'disposable teams.'

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 30 2008 11:16 AM EDT

aye, where's the loyalty? where's the dedication? where's the love?

Sickone August 31 2008 2:22 AM EDT

Somewhere else ? :)

Wasp August 31 2008 6:00 AM EDT

Dedication and love aren't really worth it though..? It's easier on the pocket to let someone else try and put love and dedication in.

Cube August 31 2008 6:03 AM EDT

The current system has flaws, but you still need at least 6 months of dedication to do that... that's enough for me.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] August 31 2008 9:05 AM EDT

i don't think anyone is trying to lessen those with six months of dedication. personally i am just hoping jon would find a way to also reward those who have dedicated much longer periods of time.

it is really quite simple, the n*b's are cool and i like having new blood coming to the top as in cb1 things did get stale, however they shouldn't be the only way to succeed. if retention is a goal in cb2, then some method other than the "disposable team" one needs to be devised or implemented.

if you have never played anything but bonus characters, you might not have as well rounded a picture of the whole system as those of us who have tried to make things work with non-bonus or early-bonus characters.
