Beleg's + ELB (in General)

TheHatchetman October 23 2007 6:23 PM EDT

why are the two so commonly used together? It seems that they go hand in hand, but the ELB will already deal out massive damage.

Wouldn't TG be more useful so that you can help counter strats using EC for total ST drain.

Or my personal choice if i was to have an archer again, EGs. More DX can mean more shots (effectively increasing damage, though the actual blows themselves wont get any larger.), and you save XP by not having to train as much archery, XP you can use to train more ST, HP, DX, or even an enchantment.

Seriously, is there an issue with ELBs not doing enough damage?

NOTE: This is NOT saying "You're stupid for using them, you should do it my way", I really am wondering if there is something I'm missing...

45% more damage is too good to pass up, who cares how many times you hit, hit them hard and get out...

QBRanger October 23 2007 6:37 PM EDT

There will be a few times you come across someone with high AC and/or a TOE.

As novice pointed out the 45% more damage is just too good to pass up.

Besides, not all of us have an ELB capable of leaping buildings in a single bound. We need the added damage from the BGs to prop up our weak non $USD bows.

Who needs An elb for your BG's when you've got Axbows.... Nothing better than doing a direct 500k damage to tanks per hit instead of the over 1 mil to the enchanters. Easier to kill the tank first then cut down the enchanters at leisure.

Belegs and SoD. Now there's a partnership I'm rather fond of.

+12 or 13 Belegs can really make a huge difference when you're dishing damage. At upper levels in my experience a boost in strength or dex actually has less effect than it perhaps should. Whereas with Belegs you can really see the difference. Worth their weight in gold. Or CB$ but you get my meaning...;)

I would agree with The Hatchetman about using EG's if the real difference makers in how many times you hit weren't the +'s on the weapons and ammo. As it is, try killing everyone in 4 rounds no mater if you get 1 or 5 hits is better than hopping to get more than 1 hit to do more damage.

So BG's are the choice I would make for ranged damage if I still owned a tank. Wait a minute, my mule is a tank... and it's using BG's... Oh yeah!

Indeed, I found that BG worked better than any added strength beyond a certain point. I'd rather fight the exponential curve of spending money on BG to get 3% more damage than the same one on Strength and Dexterity.

I did very little MORE damage with a large Giant Strength spell. That's why I don't use one anymore. Better to invest the experience into something that makes more of a difference like AMF or GA.

Now how about a pair of gloves that add PTH but not strength or damage. That would give me a quandry.

Nooooooooo!!!! Please no. No more PTH due to something other than DX. I couldn't endure that.

make dex affect PTH

Personally I use it to out-edge single tanks (since I'm 2 minion) and other single minions in general.

Oh and also I tried a TG of higher NW than my Belegs and they result in me losing people from my fight list..
