According to WikiPedia:

So, while the word may have Swedish origins, it is also a generic word as stated above. If you search for "ombudsmen" in forum archives, I can virtually assure you that most threads dealing with the concept involve NSFY. I can also assure you that it is always 100% fun reading. *smile*

I'm a little perturbed as to how that was supposed to be obvious, OB. I don't feel the slightest bit dumb for having not "figured" it out, and neither should the rest of the CB community! We're not dumb after all...

I never said anyone should feel dumb, and I apologize if anyone feels slighted for having not figured it out. However, I felt the clues provided were more than abundant enough at that point to easily find from whence the name came (and as the answer came less than 24 hours later, I feel this was likely the case).

That doesn't make anyone dumber for not having figured it out, just means they were headed in the wrong direction. Each clue was intended to push someone off a different track and onto another.

1. NSFY was to direct you to NSFY's account.
2. Not having to know what NSFY meant was to direct people away from deciphering the 'NSFY' acronym.
3. I then clarified further that it was NSFY, the person, and stated the clan he owned.
4. More subtle hint: NSFY's comments are always 100% fun reading.
5. User image with a Ferret in it.
6. The month within which the post was made. NSFY responds to very few threads, so I figured at this point I would have to reduce the prize, as it made it much a much quicker solve.


Hopefully that explained it to you a bit better, Mem, and again, sorry that you felt perturbed about not finding the solution.
