Proposition: No Upgraded Ammo in Tournies (in General)

Should be obvious enough.

Agreed,
I would prefer to see no upgraded ammo period, but this should be obvious.
Upgraded ammo is not cheap to maintain, and money is far from bountiful for a tournament character. If he so chooses to invest in that fashion, it takes away significant money from elsewhere. If it was that unbalanced, I would think it should be adjusted for normal play, as well.
Though I suppose defensive ammo is where it would be exploited...... People that aren't man enough to make a real strat that works on the defensive without playing childish games shouldn't be in a tourny anyway....

NS, that can be said about the NL cb game, but tons of people do and did use defensive ammo.
I agree 100% with this idea. As should anyone with an IQ over 30.
Then I must be brain dead... I only see it being bad if people are allowed to have defensive setups. Otherwise, the cost of maintaining the ammo precludes the benefits.
Maybe if you knew the rules of the current tourny you would understand NS. The winner is highest score at the end, on the last day we can only fight other T characters.
Pathos,
Although I agree, I wouldn't make retarded assumptions like that.
It's only retarded if a person with an IQ over 30 disagrees, and isn't disagreeing for the sake of disagreement.

NS- the problem arises in its usage at the end of a tournament. You only need a small stack of like 100 to use right at the end to secure victory by beating people you would normally never beat. So you're not having to "maintain" it at all.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in having a defensive setup - it is part of the game and the sooner people see this the better. It is not cheating it is all part of the overall strat. I have defensive setups that I have always used just to protect myself against some people that I am not quite beating. And yes you do pay for it the arrows/bolts are expensive to maintain.
Not many people have IQ's under 30. So you're saying nearly everyone who plays CB should agree with this otherwise they're a moron?
Pretty much. This proposition is for tournament play Freed. So nothing you said applies to the situation.

This is a seriously big issue. I can use upgraded ammo at the end to possibly guarantee winning. So could others. Do I just assume others won't and risk losing because of it? Or do I do it myself just to keep things even? Whether we have a good way of tracking it or not, this really needs to be banned from *score* tourneys which is where it poses the biggest problem. Even if its a "no upgraded ammo on the last day" rule, that would suffice. If you don't understand the actual game dynamics of why this is so critical, please feel free to ask and I will make a post to explain it.
Take the up coming Capture the Flag Tourny.
On the last day, the Defensive team can just equip massive ammo, with no need to fight, and who cares how much that stack of 20 cost to upgrade, it's not like you can keep the cash on that character when the tourney finishes anyway...
So just dump everything youhave left over into upping your small stack of defensive ammo.
I have upgraded some ammo. GL you will want to fight all with your defender to keep growing on the last day. The problem I see is that attackers pick when to fight and can make strat to fight thereby having a huge advantage. Upgrading the ammo might be the only way for defenders of similar power to keep a clean sheet. Anyway I agree the + is very cheap to upgrade and overall it is very powerful.
RD, with a BA limit of 3500, you want your defensive partner to be as big as possible, as soon as possible.
Then, you just tool him up with the largest defensive ammo you can make, and don't attack with him on the last day. The defensive team can't score points for you, so why fight?
Yes you are right you would want to get all 3500 in before the last day with the defender.
You take this away it ruins my plans of having any chance of winning. It should be a rule. Then strategy can actually come into play other then who spent the most money on ammo near the end.
However, no upgraded ammo is a stretch. Maybe a limit on the x and + like 10 each (or something else other then 10).
What's the difference between upgraded ammo and big lessers?
For you Mr IQ under 30, if you're strat was good enough, then someone's upgraded ammo wouldn't matter.
How people spend their money on their Tourney character shouldn't be your concern, what should be your concern is how you spend yours.
If you want to make it fair, then everyone should have to fight completely naked.

I disagree. Even the best strategy with evasion or a massive dex can be quickly neutralized with x30 arrows, which are not that expensive to use. Very quick and disposable bonus for tanks.

Mikel. I can have a 0 dex tank and use upgraded ammo to hit 100% on huge dex or evasion minions alike. Also, upgraded the ammo damage can let you hit so hard that GA/ToE/PL is made worthless. Or how about super upgraded explosive shots? Can you really argue the impact this would have if someone spends 200k on a stack of 100 ammo to win in the last 5 minutes of a tournament?

Pathos - if you can read then my statement could make some sense. To re-itterate with better explanation - When I am not fighting in a tournament I place defensive ammo on my archer to give a possible chance of some extra points for those chars who only just beat me - its called part of the game. Fine if you want to make it a tourny rule then do it and everyone will abide by it I am sure.
