Fixed Hal pth (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan June 11 2007 11:50 AM EDT

That is all.

th00p June 11 2007 11:50 AM EDT

That is amazing!

lostling June 11 2007 12:15 PM EDT

*worships jon* THANK YOU :)

SBW June 11 2007 12:17 PM EDT

what does that mean? o.O

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] June 11 2007 12:19 PM EDT

That Hal is able to hit now.

SBW June 11 2007 12:21 PM EDT

so... it's actually useful?

lostling June 11 2007 12:21 PM EDT

does this mean hal has as much PTH as a TOA of the same lvl? :x

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] June 11 2007 12:23 PM EDT

Useful, I don't know.

No longer useless, probably :)

lostling June 11 2007 12:36 PM EDT

question to jon :) do Hals use a elbs or do they use other bows? because elbs = 100% CTH with archery while other bows = 90% CTH :)

AdminJonathan June 11 2007 1:16 PM EDT

HFs do not have an ELB

lostling June 11 2007 1:22 PM EDT

sad :x

BootyGod June 11 2007 2:55 PM EDT

Thanks =D

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 11 2007 3:59 PM EDT

It needs more testing, but it looks like this could use a "fixed better"

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 11 2007 4:01 PM EDT

<edyit> Ranged Hits / Shots / Avg Damage 6 / 6 / 411,561

This is against my team, no AC no eva, no db...with a 2.5 mil tat...

lostling June 11 2007 4:28 PM EDT

can anyone provides more numbers as to how much PTH a hal has now?

Brakke Bres [Ow man] June 11 2007 7:01 PM EDT

PTH numbers? pretty much no one knows except Jon.
What i do know is that the PTH might be OK now but the problem shifted to another area, maybe....

This is with a smallish HaL against an opponent with no evasion or large amount of dex. Why didn't the HaL shoot twice in the first round?
5 / 5 / 29,557

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 11 2007 7:08 PM EDT

he doesn't shoot twice in the first round because of penalties to hit...

Any possibility Archery on the HF isn't getting trained right?

lostling June 11 2007 7:43 PM EDT

jon once said that archery on Hal has the effect of 1.0 :) so go figure lol :x by numbers i mean numbers that we can infer from fight results :)

noneedforthese June 12 2007 3:13 AM EDT

2.5mil tat does 400~k damage? That's discouraging to say the least...

lostling June 12 2007 3:23 AM EDT

lets compare it vs a steel fam of the same lvl...
Steel fam
Trains: Magic Missile (MM) at 100% of level
Trains: Hit points (HP) at 25% of level

halidon fam
deals 400k damage at 2.5mill lvl
trains HP at 1/3 of level

at lvl 2.5mill the steel fam would have 2.5mill worth of Magic missile which would mean it would have a damage output of around 48% of the spell lvl? which would mean approx 1,200,000max... lets say its from 40% to 48% damage its damage output would by far out weigh the miserable 400k damage a hal puts out

noneedforthese June 12 2007 3:27 AM EDT

_but_ ( :) )
Hal can do double hits (theoretically more than double right??)
You can very easily increase Hal's str with HoE/Tulkas/AoM etc, whereas you only have Alatar for SF, and I think more people use AMF versus EC....
Mind you, I still think SF is a lot better keke
(DB/evasion/UC still kills Hal... hell, even DX difference kills Hal hahaha)

lostling June 12 2007 3:49 AM EDT

lets say 1mill damage unavoidable damage average vs 400k*3damage from hal... which would you prefer considering everyone uses evasion and your hal is not likely to hit more then once

muon [The Winds Of Fate] June 12 2007 8:28 AM EDT

I think, more to the point, you can increase the HALs damage using Giant Strength. You can't do the same for a SF.

Sure, some tweaking is probably in order (definitely from the sounds of things) but you have to remember that only the HF and Jig have spell-upgradeable damage output.

Flamey June 12 2007 8:32 AM EDT

Junction is the key to the HF. the bonuses are 150% or whatever it said.

So get all those stat-boosting gears and at 2.5 mil it'll do a lot.

deifeln June 12 2007 9:13 AM EDT

yeah, but if you boost ST, you lose Archery benefits...

lostling June 12 2007 10:39 AM EDT

just give HF unlimited archery lol :x

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 12 2007 10:41 AM EDT

as glorious as that would be, I'll eat my keyboard if it happens...

lostling June 12 2007 10:47 AM EDT

/me would love to see novice do that :x but unfortunately....

TheHatchetman June 12 2007 12:15 PM EDT

ummm... As far as adding ST reducing the archery effect, why not add ST *and* DX using junction? a 17% boost with TG and an 18% boost with HoE would only require a 7% boost from some EBs (and seriously, who uses EBs below +18? ;)

After all, any boosts to DX also boost the skill on that minion, no?

TheHatchetman June 12 2007 2:22 PM EDT

furthermore, boost ST 18% with HoE, and overall damage 36% with BG, while only needing + 4 EBs to make up for the archery...

lostling June 12 2007 2:44 PM EDT

i dont think anything can make up for the lost archery

Flamey June 13 2007 3:30 AM EDT

He just proved that, lostling. Elven gear gives bonus to DX *and* Skills.

But, TH, you're only preventing the penalty from the HoE. Archery would still be below 1.00, because it wont 1/4 of the ST due to the increased ST from items. But getting decent sized EB should fix that problem.

P.S. Add "HoE" to the spell-checker please.

lostling June 13 2007 3:39 AM EDT

i mean the STR boost would outweigh whatever skill boost your getting? :x

Flamey June 13 2007 3:41 AM EDT

"boost ST 18% with HoE, and overall damage 36% with BG, while only needing + 4 EBs to make up for the archery..."

You would only need +18 EB, which is probably 1 mil NW to balance it out.

That is if you're using BG instead of TG, if you used TG then it would be outweighed.

lostling June 13 2007 4:02 AM EDT

not sure if TG or BG or EG would be better

Flamey June 13 2007 4:03 AM EDT

BG would, because they want to boost the damage as it has low damage output. BG boost straight out damage so it wont affect Archery, ST or DX.

noneedforthese June 13 2007 4:19 AM EDT

I tested BGs before jonathan fixed the DB junction/PTH... they did nothing to boost my damage but I have not tried it since those two aforementioned fixes :)

QBRanger June 14 2007 1:59 PM EDT

Hal hit PwnyBoy [148643]
Hal hit PwnyBoy [175912]
Hal shot PwnyBoy [108445]
Hal shot PwnyBoy [145452]
The Grid missed Juggernaut

First Quad hit with the Hal I have gotten.

lostling June 15 2007 5:18 AM EDT

with how what lvl? with what items? vs who?

AdminJonathan June 15 2007 3:21 PM EDT

bg/junction was fixed a while ago

AdminNightStrike June 15 2007 7:07 PM EDT

"You would only need +18 EB"

You should only need to increase Archery by a quarter of what you're increasing ST. A +8 HoE, for instance, would increase ST by 12%. Then you need a +3 EB to increase Archery equivalently.

lostling June 15 2007 11:13 PM EDT

:) hope AOF + junction gets fixed soon... then i can really play with hal
