Strat Talk: Sage Advice (in General)

If you could only give one small peice of advice to a new player, what would it be?

Let's assume for the moment that the new player has already been directed to the wiki, has read a great deal of it, and is simply looking for something to guide them through the CB.

Personally, I'd like them to just know that Carnage Blender is both a game and a community, treat it accordingly.

Umm...run for the hills...err I mean Fight Fight Fight!

Seriously though, fighting is everything, and getting a clean start in your first week of NUB can't mean the difference between top 50 and top 20.

MrC [DodgingTheEvilForgeFees] April 9 2007 3:19 AM EDT

Have fun.
It is a game afterall.

TheHatchetman April 9 2007 3:29 AM EDT

Shingle minion, anything else would be nails in a coffin.

Lumpy Koala April 9 2007 4:38 AM EDT

Just make sure you win most of your BA spent :P The closer to 100% win, the better.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] April 9 2007 5:21 AM EDT

don't go tank from day one, wait untill you have money.

GO PATS April 9 2007 9:01 AM EDT

Longevity and consistency are key to long term success, whether you define that success as being a respected community member, a good player, or just someone having fun.

4 minion EEEE
One less opponent to worry about ;-)

Seriously? - The thing that made most difference to me was getting a supportership - That is the one thing that makes the game fun, rather than a slog

buy BA when you have a clan and are fighting 100% Challenge bonus opponents around 80k MPR onwards you are sure to earn money ^^

miteke [Superheros] April 9 2007 12:47 PM EDT

The #1 piece of advice I would give is to become active in the community and ask lots of questions.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] April 9 2007 12:51 PM EDT

"Have fun!" or "Think long term!" depending on the type of player.

miteke [Superheros] April 9 2007 1:08 PM EDT

Well, except for the "Wow, seekers are expensive" thread. I guess involvement in the community could drive a newbie away if the thread gets nasty enough.

QBJohnnywas April 9 2007 1:41 PM EDT

Have fun, get some sleep, get a life; it's only a game! Make sure you're up to date on your spelling and your grammar. If you see a Morgul Hammer in the store buy it. Oh, and listen to that Vestax fella; he's the true voice of wisdom.....

[T]Vestax April 9 2007 4:16 PM EDT

Don't listen to that Vestax fella, listen instead to that Johnnywas guy.

Mikel [Bring it] April 9 2007 7:49 PM EDT

I would tell people to simply play their game, enjoy it and give them an ignore list.

BootyGod April 9 2007 7:50 PM EDT

Take everything everyone tells you, memorize it, analyze it, and store it. Then use Decay, a Tulwar, and nothing but EC. When that stops working, try something else.

It's -your- strategy after all.
