For new users (in Changelog)

Most people reading CL won't be affected by this, but the list of new user goals in the sidebar now updates itself, so people with short memories can tell what they have already accomplished more easily. Accomplished goals are marked like this.

Jon,

Can you let us old farts know what the list of new user goals are?

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] December 27 2006 7:50 AM EST

maby you should let us old players do those goals also :D

TH3 C0113CT0R December 27 2006 8:33 AM EST

but only on a new character.

AdminShade December 27 2006 10:14 AM EST

or on a NCB character, the money you can make from it isn't much, but for some people it could mean a bit of a refreshment :)

The Cornerback23 December 28 2006 12:01 AM EST

The goals are not that much just like get a certain score, view a specific person's character graph, forge an item, use the blacksmith, defeat a certain person and some more things.

i think all the bigger players have 1 goal and 1 goal only....

The number 1 spot?

TH3 C0113CT0R December 28 2006 8:20 AM EST

well guess what.... For most of us thats not a goal..... its a dream.

Well, it could be more than that. If I'm in NP in chat, and someone is asking about a certain goal, I have no idea, since I've never done the goals before. It might help get that little bit of perspective. Therefore, letting 'older' players do the quests will help the new players!

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] December 29 2006 12:25 PM EST

Enough of us older players already know how to rent items, view history graphs, blacksmith items etc. why should we then be rewarded for doing so?
There should probably be some NCB goals which require beating a pre-determined character or having a certain score:MPR ratio above a certain level but the main point of them being introduced was to help new players understand the game a little quicker.
We shouldn't need to do them, the only stumbling block is if the new player just asks for help without giving the actual description of the goal.

Miandrital December 29 2006 12:28 PM EST

Actually most of the goals end up costing more to finish then the reward. Examples are renting items, forging items, equipping a bow and ammo, etc.
The prizes are way too small to even consider giving them to vets. (You would get maybe ~2k)

Unappreciated Misnomer December 29 2006 12:37 PM EST

then why not make NCB for interesting for old players like us :)

they would get a random challenge list, gains no benefit other than regular rewards, but would server as a quest of sorts

{Kneel Before} Zod December 30 2006 2:05 PM EST

Yes, to be honest, I was expecting some kind of big prize at the end of completing the goals since they cost me so much to do. That's definitely a problem. They should at least pay for themselves.
