Weird BA refreshes. (in General)

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 6:57 AM EDT

I've been getting weird BA amounts today. If I leave it to accumulate I get odd amounts. I've had two or three lots of BA totalling 17 and I've had two lots of 41....

It's a bit strange....

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 7:10 AM EDT

When I was 10/10 I'd get 10 for my first refresh and 8 for the second. Every time! ;)

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 7:14 AM EDT

I'm on a 9 ba refresh now and I've just let it accumulate as a test. The first refresh was 9, the second was only 8. Do we have a BA bug?

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 7:21 AM EDT

Ok, another 8.....that is 9,8,8....

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 7:24 AM EDT

Ok, I've used my 25 ba from 3 refreshes so that I could check the following:

You have used all your available BA. 9 additional BA are supplied every 10 minutes. (If unused, these will accumulate up to a maximum of 160, so you don't have to hang around waiting for every update if you don't want to.)

I want my missing ba!!!! :P

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 7:51 AM EDT

Got a 9/10 refresh. Came back just now (second time I've noticed) to 17 BA. That's got to be 9 + 8.

:/

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 7:55 AM EDT

I've just got another 25 for three lots of BA.

Looks like the first is 9 and following amounts are 8....

Don't think that's supposed to happen somehow............

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 8:13 AM EDT

Ok, if this is a bug then I've got a suspicion it's to do with the following:

I first noticed the weird BA refreshes after I unretired my larger character Jack Crow. I've just put him back into retirement and I appear to be getting my full complement of BA again...

Flamey July 12 2006 8:15 AM EDT

was your character, jack crow on 8/10?

it could think that, that character is still the active character, therefore give refreshes for it (8/10)

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 8:16 AM EDT

Yup JC was 8/10. I suspect I was getting the lower team's refresh on the first and JC's on the following...

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 8:18 AM EDT

The reason I thought about retiring JC again was because GL has the same thing happening and he recently unretired his larger character too....

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 8:21 AM EDT

Ah! guess I'll have to retire Chosen then. :)

Regen before retiring: 9 + 8 + 8.

I'll let you know how it goes in 30 mins! ;)

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 8:34 AM EDT

My refreshes appear to be back to normal. Lets see what's up with GL in a little while....

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 8:45 AM EDT

Yup, back to normal. came back to 18, so 9 + 9. :)

AdminShade July 12 2006 8:47 AM EDT

It takes quite a while before you go to consistently getting the lower character's BA replenishing rate.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 8:48 AM EDT

Shade, I had Chosen un retired for a while. CB was giving me his (8/10) refresh rate, after the initial tick, while playing my new character, and playing my new one only. :(

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 8:50 AM EDT

There is a lag when you switch characters regarding BA refresh to make it difficult to use the lower character's higher refresh rate on your higher character.

But all I did was unretire JC. I wasn't using him, or even switching to him. And the ba refreshing 9, then 8, then 8 is glitchy. That's not normal!

AdminJonathan July 12 2006 9:11 AM EDT

"That's not normal!"

That's entirely normal when you have a higher PR char around.

QBJohnnywas July 12 2006 9:16 AM EDT

Ok! He's retired now anyway. So the moral of the story is to retire your large characters when starting a new one then?

I definitely learn something new every day!

Thanks for that Jon, :)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 9:23 AM EDT

Oh! Didn't know that. I thought BA refresh was tied to your active character not highest.

At least it's a way to stop people abusing switching to a samller charctaer to get a bigger refresh! ;)

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] July 12 2006 9:31 AM EDT

It is tied to your active character, but unretireing triggers that. If you don't make the larger one active the refresh should return to normal after a short time. You can't get extra BA by switching down and then switching back to a larger character.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 12 2006 9:35 AM EDT

BL, I unretired Chosen on "July 7 2006 1:42 PM EDT" (Taken from Lil Oprhan Thread). That's 5 days ago. Yet my BA refresh hadn't sorted itself out by then. :/

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] July 12 2006 9:48 AM EDT

That is not how it used to work. A long time ago I ran a new char up to about 20k while keeping my main unretired without any problems. Weren't Valinorians switching char all the time so some of them would get better refresh for CP. Did it get changed? Is it bugged now? How is it supposed to work?
