I can't take credit for this one as it was emailed to me from a colleague in Malta.

On the topic of Zidane though - what was he thinking? Arguably the best football player the world has seen in the last 15 years and 10 minutes before bringing the curtain down on his career he does this. Sheeze, I wonder what Materazzi actually said to him (not that it justifies what he did) to make him lash out like that.

Great headbutt though and one that would have floored Tyson. Definitely no play acting on behalf the the Italian - it was a clean knock down :)

I've heard speculation to the effect that Materazzi made some sort of racial slur. Considering Zidane is of Algerian extraction, I certainly wouldn't rule the possibility out.

This just makes my desire to see one of these football stars wearing a pair of too big ice skates trying to get away from Scott Parker on a bad day all the greater.
You don't go around throwing headbutts when the other team has a guy who will come over the glass to get you.
