Breaking down my strat for NCB. (Again, thinking ahead) (in General)

Gallatin [Thanoscopter And You] June 22 2006 10:28 AM EDT

Okay, here's the plan for the SFBM that was recommended to me by JW in the thread I made back in May:

Minion 1 Training Plan:
HP @ 25%
FB @ 75%
Base Prot @ 100k MPR
Minion 2 to be added at 500k MPR and its training plan is:
DM @ 33%
AS @ 67%

Any alterations I should make to this?

Gallatin [Thanoscopter And You] June 22 2006 10:29 AM EDT

Well, actually, GL made the recommendation. =P

(Sorry for doubleposting)

I was just about to say that - it would have been me but GL was the faster poster!

I'm sure I didn't recommend a second minion! ;) AS is really wasted on only two minions, unless you're doing something funky with a RoS! ;)

Roenall June 22 2006 10:46 AM EDT

AS is great for 2 minion if you know how to use it properly.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 22 2006 10:47 AM EDT

With a RoS? Or a Familiar? Otherwise, it's a waste over training natural HPs.

Roenall June 22 2006 11:00 AM EDT

Minion A

PL@40K (80K) AMF@100K AS 100%

TOE
CORN
leathers boots
leathers gloves

Minion B

HP 20K per 100K MPR MM or FB (100%)
MCM
AG
COI
CAB
leathers boots

Properly use AS is better that natural HP.

I'm sorry Roe, in your example AS gives less HP than training natural HP s on both minions.

It does allow you to concentrate more xp on your mage, but for just adding HP s, natural HP s do the job better.

I like the single minion purely AS enchanter with fire familiar tattoo. The sheer amount of focussed xp into the spell makes up for the penalties for casting on a small amount of minions. And you can get a suprisingly large amount of AS if that's all you are training. Add PL, equip a whip or something to place the familiar in front and you've a decent fighting machine.

base decay would be more useful than the weapon, and would produce the same effect.

QBJohn Birk [Black Cheetah Bazaar] June 22 2006 12:21 PM EDT

P.S. why give the enchanter anything he could pretend to swing with, instead equip a BASE missle weapon with no ammo and viola mission accomplished, no embarassing attacks.

QBJohnnywas June 22 2006 12:24 PM EDT

Yup base decay would work too and really well in the right circumstances. But it would also give AMF that little bit more to work with. And in my example I'm using a fire familiar. Friendly fire and AMF backlash from decay leave your AS/PL enchanter a bit smaller than I would like.

But for those times when it works decay is still my favourite thing in CB. Ah such an effect for so little investment! ;)

QBJohnnywas June 22 2006 12:26 PM EDT

You're right Seft, but for me a whip/sword/axe is more aesthetically pleasing when viewing the character!

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 22 2006 12:27 PM EDT

yeah without a ToE in the mix base decay can cause some problems, I hadn't ever realized that what sefton suggested works...way cool.

Gallatin [Thanoscopter And You] June 22 2006 6:58 PM EDT

To everyone: Sorry if this is late, but I'm adding the 2nd minion at 500k to wreck the enchantments of any AS user out there (which in this case would be a lot).

I'm not going to use AS myself, though.

Doesn't anyone have any other suggestions for my future NCB strat?
