the steel familiar will be very good to use imo.

you will deal damage to all minions with fireball and do additional damage to the minions which stand more behind.

May I point out that the steel familiar is a lesser tattoo. Meaning it will level up slower. It's level isn't really relevant when you consider that the ToE will quickly pass it.

That said, I'd stick with the lesser steel familiar and upgrade to a normal steel familiar when you can.

But if I got to choose any tattoo, RoE hands down. The single FB mage strategy is very over rated, it's main strength though is that it gains MPR so quickly (for a start, you can buy an awful lot more BA than anyone else). Most of the time, your best option is to take what advantage you have and make the most of it, in this case, MPR, and to do that, you need an RoE.
