Idea for Eco clans, revisited... (in General)

originally from the thread... Idea for Eco Clans...

Here is the original post with a couple of new idea added in:

Ok, so i know Eco clans arent the most appealing to most, but i think i may have found out a way to fix that problem.

For items that are non-forgeable, keep them the same and let them be Blacksmith'ed, but.... (or something, doesnt matter to me on these items, maybe you can think of something better).

Every other item that can be forged and/or BS'd, make it so they can only be forged. Maybe reduce the NW a little bit, but make it so the player has to look for a forger instead of BS'ing it and instead of everyone having different BS %'s, everyone would have the same rate (100%, obviously would be lower than the BS would've been). Would be a great way to increase the value of higher NW items i believe as well.

But give me your ideas and preferably no flames, just suggestions to make it a better idea. I believe it could be done if it is just thought out perfectly, (obviously).

Another idea i had on the thread...

i still say eco clans need rankings and 15% increase for forging cycles for #1 clan and so on.

Someone comment on the main idea which brought me to this point...

It would make it so the owner of the item to be forged to have to wait, but it would obviously have to give more leeway on higher ended NW items. But right now i see it as BS is taking business away from forgers, this is a way to get out of that, and maybe drag a few forgers into eco's.

Idea's comments?

I made this thread because before it didnt get any further than a few comments, and nothing else, i really think this idea could go far.

I like the spirit of these ideas, but a better ranking system needs to be devised. It's just too easy to "trick" the rankings right now...just look at my eco clan (Revenge of the Forgers).

If you want to make it so that items can only be forged, and not BSed, then it sounds like "clan forging" is the only way to go - it would take a single person way too long to upgrade items when they get large enough.

The problem with clan forging as it is now is that you need to transfer the item permanently, so that the forgers can transfer it between themselves. Obviously, you would have to trust the forgers before you would send an item to them, so new forgers wouldn't get these kind of jobs.

I think a boost to Econ clans would be to allow transfers of loaned items between members - ideally the transfers would be free, or greatly discounted. In this way, econ clan members could share forge jobs in order to get the job done much faster, and the owner of the item doesn't have to worry about getting it back.

(Excuse me if this has been suggested before - I haven't read these threads....)

sorry to flame, i like the idea but, some people need their gear back in 28 minutes or less it takes to BS.

I've been cheekily suggesting the death of the BS for a while, not that I actually hate the poor guy, but he has more money than the sultan of Brunai. I've never actually figured out why people are not able to use the items they get forged, if this stupidity was corrected, I think forging would be more popular than a named corn in the store.

flamey, thats the whole point, BS takes away jobs from forgers...

If BS was gone, it would force fighters to wait for there items to return, or just get replacement or rental till theirs is done getting forged. btw, why would they "need" to get their stuff back in 28 minutes?

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] April 28 2006 10:27 PM EDT

i jsut thought of another pretty good idea, take away BS still, but....

Give forgers options, make it so when you pick the item to forge you can also pick prices of a forging job.

For example:

I want to forge my TSA to +45 (NW increase of 581k). Now typically this job would take me a day and a half, but with this new option, you could pick prices such as 50% of BS would give you maybe a half a day to forge it. 20% BS price would give you a little over a day. (Going down to 15%)

So pretty much the least amount of money you pay the longer it will take to forge, and then the owner of the item would pay the fees, and double the price of the fees, or something to that affect, prices would have to be worked out, but, i think something could be done about that.

this has no more interest? what do other forgers think of this idea?

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] April 29 2006 6:17 PM EDT

would definately be a better way to increase money flow for forgers since thats all we get, ( no MPR growth... )

For what it's worth, it sounds like a good idea.

Curious, how do you find out how much money the blacksmith has?
