Any Magic: The Gathering Players? (in Off-topic)

...for the link to download Apprentice. It's a program that allows you to create decks with any card created thus far. There are always new patches for the newest sets so the program keeps itself updated. It's free to download, and free to use. You can even connect via the internet (IP) to a friend and play!! It works best with people in the same room (roommates), but I figured if anyone on here likes to play we can get together when I'm at home (as opposed to work due to firewall constraints) and play on Apprentice while blending :) You will most likely need the full download. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Here is a sample screenshot of what to expect. The mechanics are really easy to catch onto unless you're using cards that do off the wall things.

I have also downloaded this game, and it looks really interesting. If anyone wants to play you can cm me, and i'll reply asap. Hopefully this will be something fun to do, and it's also something different.

I have downloaded and played with my roommate before. It is pretty fun, you can use any card you want. Sadly enough, I am behind a firewall so I can not play with anyone from CB.

i play Magic. : ) try using magic workstation. i think its www.magicworkstation.com, they don't have the card pictures and you'll need to download thefile w/ all of the cards. : ) its pretty fun

Hahah. Wow.. who picked up the patch making for expansions? Last I knew, e-league shut down. *misses his months of playtesting before PTQs and regionals*

Maybe a better question would be:
Who here hasn't played Magic? ^.~

I used to play the first version of App ... I dunno if you wanna play me. I RARELY play for fun. I'm overly compedative .. in fact will be playing states next month on the 2HG Sealed format. Hopefully I place top 4, and get to go to regionals :)

maulaxe February 24 2006 3:14 AM EST

most of my cards are in spanish, so not mush resale value >_<
I can use them to play though, but haven't for over a year

Halcyon February 24 2006 3:38 AM EST

Yeah, this App isnt' AS good, simply cause I can't just get a random opponent. And maul, I dun care what language they are, I'd still buy SOME of them I'm sure. S-Chinese cards, are worth more than english cards.

Halcyon February 24 2006 3:53 AM EST

I only have about 2k cards currently, Mostly Ravnica and Guildpact .. add another box worth tomorrow. EIther buying Ravnica, Guildpact, or 9th Edition. Not sure yet. Money wise, I should get Guildpact, keep my foils and playsets of rares, and e-bay the rest. But, I'm all for playing people in App, but .. again, the warning, I play competivly. UNLESS otherwise asked. I mean, my decks are fast, and ruthless. However, I like to make fun decks from time to time. Just lemme know what "format", and deck type you wanna play. I'd prefer sealed over anything actually. As I need to practice in sealed ofr upcomming states champs. So, would need to do: 1x Ravnica Tournement Pack 3x Guildpact Boosters

I was very competitive in the past, never ambitious enough to go for regionals or anything, but plenty of pre-releases / states / PTQs .. ORIGINS was a blast every time .. now im just in it for the fun factor .. decks that are just fun to play with friends ... the new Apprentice can even support Chaos Magic if anyone is up for that lol ... it's rather fun!

/me laughs at chappy.

Magic is the only card game that was ever worth playing if you were over the age of 8, I used to play in a pokemon league and it was ok just to get out of the house but then I just went there and played Warhammer with my uber Ultramarine crew instead :)
