Clarification for Vorpal (in General)

[SoV] Shiv [/me Forge Stuff :D] May 25 2005 2:56 AM EDT

So any stat the vorpal may have be it a x1 or x100, no matter what it'll still cut defense by half?

Tenchi Muyo May 25 2005 3:12 AM EDT

Unless Jon is holding back information, yes. VB always cuts the damage reduction in half. Only for that attack though.

AdminShade May 25 2005 6:11 AM EDT

yes shiv :)

[SoV] Shiv [/me Forge Stuff :D] May 25 2005 12:22 PM EDT

another thing. if my AC is 100 and he hits me with vorpal like 4 times will it be cut down like this? 100 > 50> 25> 12.5> ? and after the fourth round i get hit with an exec; damage is calculated at the 12.5 ac mark, i gather?

bartjan May 25 2005 12:25 PM EDT

It only halves for the duration of that single blow. So it won't go below 50%.

Nixon Jibfest May 25 2005 2:09 PM EDT

So if you have 2 tanks.... Tank #1 hits 100AC opponent with VB and that opponent is reduced to 50AC. When Tank #2 attacks, the AC is back up to 100?

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] May 25 2005 2:12 PM EDT

Yep the AC reduction is only in effect for the vorpal blade damage.

Will [Retired] May 25 2005 2:13 PM EDT

yeah, its like comparing a light-sabre to a butter knife... Which will cut through steel better? :P

maulaxe May 25 2005 2:28 PM EDT

it doesn't actually lower AC, it just ignores it. think of it that way

Maelstrom May 25 2005 2:32 PM EDT

maulaxe, that's a very good description!

AdminShade May 25 2005 3:52 PM EDT

indeed, thanks for that sharp remark :) i'll add that to my site's description of the vorpal blade

maulaxe May 25 2005 4:34 PM EDT

can i claim intellectual property rights and charge people when they read it?

i dont know that "intellectual" describes me though ; )

AdminShade May 25 2005 4:36 PM EDT

no you can't :)

Sukotto [lookingglas] May 25 2005 4:55 PM EDT

Has anyone figured out yet if the VB halves AC on every attack or only when it goes "snicker-snack!"?

AdminJonathan May 25 2005 5:04 PM EDT

every attack.
