Does this thing effect the ToE?

Question:
Does the target gets AC/End/Prot halved for the duration of the fight (like Exbow/Axbow) or only apply to the round?
it's only for the VB attack
lemme get ahold of one of these puppies :D

money sent, if only to help out the CB community :)
Question (Maybe this will work ):
Does the VB affect the damage reduction of the ToE?

AWSOME. Finally a weapon that target SMTOE and *may be* ToJ Endurance.
/me awaits his new blade! =D
/me sees the end of Katana Exec usage.

Nice! Good timing to introduce a new weapon to disrupt AC just as people start fighting naked...=)
Actually with the NW/PR link making people think more about armour levels this could come in handy - a lot of armoured mages and tanks are quite low AC if they're wearing a tattoo so this will reduce their levels quite nicely. Perhaps the amount of base protection users out there will lessen too because of this. Mmmm, those multi teams with a ToE dishing out group endurance won't like this eiher....
Very nice. I'll definitely be putting in an order for one!

it's forgable, but frodbot won't answer me on how to forge it :P
stupid question, but isn't HP/Endurance/prot. halved, about the same as damage doubled???
/me sees the rulers of my favorite strategy game, HoMM 3:
Ancient Behemoth before me.

its more than double the damage, which is why it's forging costs should be higher than anything else in the game.
Thus, making it's NW much higher and people being very careful with upgrading it as to not screw themselves over with a huge PR jump.

How is this in any way a huge dent to AC tanks? You have to get to melee for it to work ;) and besides, you'll never get this weapon the sizes of Morgs and Elven Swords.

It's only extra damage if any armour, protection or endurance is present - otherwise it's only a tiny bit better than a katana. At least that's what it looks like to my feeble brain....
it would only be the same as doubling damage if all your opponents reduced your damage to zero otherwise
silly question...but, Jon do you know the forge times for VB?
no one answers me!!!
Of course he knows the forge times :P

I'm sure he does Monty. Don't expect an answer.
My guess: start with 150, 30 and play around; good luck =P
I'll experiment its somewhere near the BTh/Katana/Exec :)
hmm.. if ToE is 75%, and I hit 100k, I damage 25k.
if ToE is 37.5%, and I hit 100k, I damage 62.5k.
(I have been having a martial arts class some hour before, so I'm tired and apologize for my eventual mistakes).

Forge time :
4 minutes per point
I swear ;)
you are correct, MM. my mistake.
I think i got it
97% at 366k MPR is bright cherry red then quench to cool then do 20 min then tempering then after that I did heat to cheery red then viciousness. then did 22 minutes. got about 91% after the 97% so i think it's pretty muich around there :P

already found the formulae :P
anyway i take it that the effects of "Target AC/Endurance/Protection" is halved?
in regard to the protection that a 50 protection would become 25.
shade: lol that would suck big time a protection from 50 to 25 :S mad crazy!
So assume a mythical hit of 100K of damage with a melee weapon.
If the defender has an AC of 240, he blocks about half damage so the blow would do 50K of damage now.
If the defender has an endurance of 50%, the blow would then be reduced to 25K of damage.
If the defender has a Protection of, say, 40%, the blow would end up doing 15K of damage.
Possibly further reduced by a high strength?
The same 100K blow with a Vorpal Blade would result in:
100K -> 75K -> 56,250 -> 45,000.
So, overall, you could end up doing quite a bit more damage, 3 times as much in my example above.
Can someone show me the flaw in my reasoning or do I have it right?
your math is correct
but I don't see too many characters out there with ToE _and_ 240 AC
Arorrr

neither do i see 200AC/Endurance/50Prot... that's like crazy strat..

Well, yeah, I was just using those numbers to get round results. But it's nice to know that my aging brain can still figure things out.

So is it easier or harder than upgrading exec?
Arorrr
May 16 2005 11:40 PM EDT
it's harder to upgrade than exec but easier than kata.
"but I don't see too many characters out there with ToE _and_ 240 AC"
"neither do i see 200AC/Endurance/50Prot.."
I've got 150 AC, Endurance and 4 Protection. So getting there! :)
200 AC here I come!
Hey... just in time for a new item that rips this set up apart!
:P

You must be on crack, GL 8^)
Your endurance isn't full since ToE isn't on the heavy T.
Hah!
No, just academic year end, new timetables, pre admission groups and GCSE exams...
>_<
That's true, but how does a reduced Endurance work? The level of the Tattoo is just effectively lower on other minions right? But it can still reach the 75% cap if large enough? Or my AC is large enough to reduce the damage enough for the tat to hit 75%...
if you're fighting people at your own PR you'll effectively never hit 75% on the partial endurance "aura" you get
test it and see
"Yozan Parsa's vorpal blade went snicker-snack!"
Ha-ha-ha-ha! Jon, that is just the coolest. It's little stuff like that that makes my day. Thanks.
Jabberwocky - Lewis Carrol
'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves
did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
all mimsy were the borogoves,
and the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
the frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand;
long time the manxome foe he sought-
so he rested by the Tumtum tree,
and stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
the Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
and burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
the vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead and with it's head
he went galumphing back.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
Oh frabjous day! Callooh, Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
all mimsy were the borogoves,
and the mome raths outgrabe.
:) The movie is worth watching as well.

"Lemminkainen's vorpal blade went snicker-snack! [6099]"
What does this mean? It doesn't say that it hit a particular enemy minion - I doubt it's a lucky hit where all opponents were hit.
Is AC/etc halved with every hit? Or only when it goes "snicker-snack"? There doesn't seem to be any indication of the "AC damage" in the fight logs. I was expecting something like the exbow or axbow, maybe "your opponent looks more vulnerable."

Does it affect ToJ endurance?
AdminShade
May 18 2005 6:53 PM EDT
yes it affects ToJ Endurance...
Such a good weapon that it seems like it all but killed UC... alas. Maybe something'll revive it?
UC was never really 'alive' to begin with.
