Possible New auction option (in General)

Was wondering if Jon might implement a option in auctions similar to ebay where you can set the maximum amount of money you want to spend on an item incase you get outbid and your not around to rebid before the item/items end. Make it to where you couldnt put more money that what you have so you dont over spend also. I know alot of you will say its lazy but some people work or have real life things going on and cant hover over waiting to see if there going to win or not just an idea maybe.

It's called proxy bidding, and other people have suggested this before, its a great idea to keep us from checking auctions like crazy when we really want something, but Jon has previously said he didn't wanna do it.

i used to play MCO (Motor City Online) and thats how they had their auctions, and it worked well. i loved it.

To be specific, Jon has placed it in his "Nice, Not Essential, Not Interested in Working on It" category as per Question 4 of the Misc FAQ. However, as per question 4 again, he is willing to accept a bribe to work on this. :)

an alternative, which could be almost as useful, would be being able to modify your own bid and add money to it, without waiting to be outbid.

Maybe a new biz on CB could be someone like an auction watcher?

I just paid a small fee to a player that proxy bid for me. It worked well, I agree Lukey, there are alternatives to watching the auction all day...
